In 1993, concerned about the educational plight of Christian children, coupled with the rapid deterioration of the family, Apostle Charles L. Tucker formed The Daniel Foundation with the following purpose in mind:

  • To provide a safe haven for families to receive care, restoration and instruction.
  • To provide monetary rewards for academic excellence in our children.
  • To provide alternatives to gang violence and teen delinquency.

The Daniel Foundation provides the following services to help reach those goals:

The Daniel Foundation Services provides the following services to help families:

Family Care

Every year The Daniel Foundation sponsors Men's, Women's, Marrieds and Singles Conferences and seminars designed to provide care, nurturing and restoration of a proper focus in order to strengthen families.

In addition to the conferences and seminars, "Family Summits" are held which provides tremendous insight and practical guidelines to parents for their homes.

The Daniel Foundation also offers a Food Bank which provides food to needy families.

Academic Excellence

With the national drop out rate at an alarming level of 2,800 every 24 hours, it was imperative for us to provide a means to motivate our children to not only stay in school, but to be the best!  In order to achieve this goal, The Daniel Foundation offers the following programs:

The Lawerence Joseph Marshall III   Memorial  Scholarship Fund

Lawrence Joseph Marshall III, who tragically lost his life at the age of ten, was a young boy that loved life and put his heart into his studies as well as his community.  We named our collegiate scholarship program in his honor in order to preserve the ideals he stood for; academic excellence and community service.  Each year a student receives a scholarship made payable to the college of their choice based upon the following criteria:

3.5 GPA or Higher

An established record of at least 75 hours of community service.

An excellent testimony at home, church and within the community.

The Annual Daniel Foundation Golf Tournament is held usually in the month of January during the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday..  Proceeds help support scholarship fund and alternative programs.

Tutorial Programs

The Daniel Foundation offers an ongoing tutorial program for at-risk youth within the inner city at the King's Village Housing Project.  In addition to academic assistance, the students are provided with refreshments and rewards for improvement, as well as guidance in self esteem, dealing with anger and home behavior.

Alternative Programs

The Daniel Foundation  provides teenagers and children an alternative to the destruction influences around them by offering the following programs:

The Youth Explosion

Before teenagers head back to school each year, The Youth Explosion, a 3 evening extravaganza featuring musical groups and inspirational, motivational speakers is held to give both youth and parents the tools necessary to stay on the right path.

More Than A Prom

Featuring comedians, contemporary Christian entertainers and dining in luxurious surroundings, "More Than A Prom" is designed to give local teenagers a fun filled alternative to the high school proms and neighborhood parties, without the specter of drugs, alcohol or peer pressure.

Halloween Alternatives

The Daniel Foundation "Hallelujah Night" provided a safe positive alternative to Halloween.  This year's events includes a carnival for small children and a gospel masquerade bowling party for teenagers and singles.
